Mental Health Advocate
A mental health advocate uses personal experience to fight stigma and empower others.

Who We Are
Coming from Nigeria in West Africa, I was fortunate to spend my earl childhood in a rural community where everybody is not somebody. I am sure somebody is wondering why I used the word fortunate; I used that because what I witnessed about mental health growing up in the 70s changed my worldview, and eventually hurled my career part.
Mental health illness was viewed as an evil attack, and people who struggled with it were automatically outcasts. I watched my fellow human being tortured, tied to trees, frequently flogged and afterwards given fermented herbs to drink. This sounds barbaric but it is a true-life-story being told by the viewer.
That stigma about mental health persists today even in a developed country like the USA, but I am here to help amplify the voices of those working tirelessly to end the stigma and create positive ways of managing mental wellbeing.
To receive care in a judgement free environment is one important thing, but establishing a therapeutic alliance that builds trust is a roadmap to recovery. At Mind healthcare we dedicate undivided attention to understanding our clients’ needs, enabling them to B-believe in themselves, L-learn their disease condition, A-appreciate the uniqueness in them and N-nurture their mind. Since recovery is a personal journey, our goal is to make a difference through instillation of hope to the hopeless and empowerment to the powerless, for mental wholeness.
Mission Statement
Mind Healthcare provides unbiased, customized, culturally centered care that does not vary in quality due to race, ethnicity, gender, socioeconomic status, or geographical location, to people in our community.
Vision
Since recovery is a personal journey, our vision is to create a platform where individuals achieve mental wholeness.
